Gatwick is the UK's second-largest international airport and the second-busiest by total passenger traffic (after Heathrow). The airport is the 9th busiest airport in Europe and the 37th busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic.
Not as much cargo is imported through Gatwick as you might think. The data science team at Stowga report that it is only the 42nd busiest hub in the UK in terms of volume of imports and 32nd for exports. However, due to the infrastructure there and the proximity to London (30 miles), there are still are large amount of warehouse specialists and logistics firms to be found nearby. Within a couple of miles there are several 3PLs with warehouse space availabe for short and long term rentals, and who can provide value add services and other supply chain solutions. There is also some BRC accredited warehouses for food and drink and one MHRA accredited site for medical goods.
