London Gateway comprises a new deep-water port, which is able to handle the biggest container ships in the world, as well as one of Europe’s largest logistics parks, provides excellent accessibility, road connections to the North, South, East and West via an eight-lane highway; and the UK’s largest port rail terminal with access to the country’s major rail hubs.
The logistics park opened in 2014 and development there is on-going. It has planning consent for a 9.25 million sq ft. Every building is brand new and built with a minimum of BREEAM 2014 ‘Very Good’ as standard. These are fast-moving sites for goods in transport operated by the world's major logistics providers. More traditional warehouse space for rent for pallet and bulk storage can be found nearby in Tilbury and Basildon. There are a number of BRC accredited sites for handling food and drink along the M25 and in Essex.
