London City Airport is located in the Royal Docks in East London, approximately 7 miles east of the City. It's main use is passanger travel, bankers and the like from the City and Canary Wharf but some cargo does go through there - mainly high value goods.
Imports dropped dramatically in the last couple of years, as too did exports, but this trend is expected to reverse and in July 2016 plans were improved for an expansion at the airport.
Being sandwiched between the Thames, major rail links to London and Essex and roads, the site is well connected. There are a number of haulage firms available on site and warehousing provided by some of the shipping companies can be found to the South and East next to the river.
