London obviously has an enormous amount of warehouses but supply is shrinking as land is at a premium - old industrial space is required for residential development which fetches a much higher price. Stowga get a lot of requests for small warehouses all over London - the right site can be hard to find but we have a network of industrial funds who we partner with to get exclusive access to many sites that do not normally get advertised online.
Rental prices are high. Our suply chain experts normally advise clients to consider the options of using third party logistic companies (3PL) to outsource warehousing, fulfilment and logistics - it's often cheaper and easier than renting a warehouse in London.
Speaking of outsourcing, as Stowga is a London-based tech business we are well connected to the London startup scene and are friendly with lots of emerging ecommerce, hardware and subscription businesses all of which generally require fulfilment services. We have relationships with some of the best, most modern and efficient efulfilment providers who can manage pick and pack and distribution from London should it be required. Many can also do bulk storage and pallet storage if needed.
Each year the Port of London handles over 40 million tonnes of cargo, from fuel to food, cars to containers, at more than 70 dedicated terminal and wharf operations all along the River Thames (Map)
