Grimsby is located just seven miles from the open sea, on the south bank of the River Humber and within easy reach of the UK's industrial heartland. Grimsby is the UK's major car import terminal (handling more than 500,000 vehicles each year) and is instrumental in serving the developing offshore wind energy industry.

Fresh produce and perishables - supporting the north sea fishing industries is Grimsby's other key area of focus. As a result there are a number of chilled and frozen warehouse facilities as well as BRC accredited sites.

The M180/A180 dual carriageway runs right to the dock entrance, providing fast links to the M18 and M1. There are also direct quayside rail connections which link the port to the national railway network.
