The Avonmouth Docks are part of the Port of Bristol. They are situated on the northern side of the mouth of the River Avon, opposite the Royal Portbury Dock on the southern side, where the river joins the Severn estuary, within Avonmouth.
The docks are one of the UK's major ports for chilled foods, especially fruit and vegetables, and a lot of the big name distributors and 3PLs like Biddy, DSV and XPO have chilled and frozen warehouses there. There are a number of Sites that Stowga has on its books that are BRC accredited.
Land-side freight access and distribution for pallet networks is via either the M5 motorway or the Henbury Loop Line, whilst rail-passenger access is via Avonmouth railway station on the Severn Beach Line.
In 2016 Central Park became one of the largest distribution development projects in the UK. Situated alongside the M49 at Avonmouth the developers (Delta Properties, advised by Knight Frank and GVA) have signed up new deals totalling nearly 2.45 million sq ft of Big-Box logistics on 121 acres. Tenants include Lidl, The Range, Mountpark and Davies Turner. Expect to see continued growth in 2017...
